About Guest Portraits
Process
No matter the type or duration of your event, I follow the same process each time. I will arrive at your venue 60 minutes early to set up quickly and be ready to work!
If guests wish to have a portrait painted, they will come up to my table and get their photo taken. I will use the photo to paint each guest's or couple's likeness in a quick, loose, impressionistic style. I use a mixture of pencil, professional grade watercolors, and ink. Each portrait is painted on high quality 5x7 watercolor paper. It takes about 5 minutes to draw and paint each person, so a couple takes roughly 10 minutes to complete. I can paint between 5-7 portraits per hour. Each painting is placed in a protective sleeve once dried, to keep safe on the way home. Guests can come pick up their finished portrait whenever they see it's ready! Any portraits that do not get finished at the event are taken back to the studio to be painted.
Investment
The Guest Portraits service includes 5 hours of painting and the guaranteed on-site completion of 25-30 portraits (which comes out to approximately 50-60 guests, as they are typically painted in pairs). If there are guests beyond the 50-60 whose paintings were not completed on site, the will be finished in the studio, safely packaged, and shipped to the couple afterwards. Local delivery is available for couples in Lancaster County. Investment begins at $1,500.
The first 50 miles from my studio in Lancaster are free! A travel fee is required for any events over 5o miles away.
