If you're reading though, hi. My name is Hannah, and I'm an artist. A ~creative~. A vague term, I know, but my reality nonetheless.
I wear many hats in my life, including but not limited to: wife, Christian, big sister, friend, middle school teacher, night owl, people watcher, planner, list-maker, and occasional fiction reader, to name a few. But the reason I'm here right now is because I focus a lot of my time on being a painter. A live wedding painter, to be exact.
I started this venture "for real" in the spring of 2023. I've been an artist all my life (I have the friendship bracelets from 2009 and an AP Art portfolio to prove it!) and have given/sold many an artwork, but my husband helped me take a leap of faith this year. We built a website - by that, I mean I built the website but asked him if it looked good every 4 seconds - to centralize and legitimize what I've been wanting to offer to the world for the longest time.
I have a constant itch to put color to canvas and give it to people. Sometimes I'm successful in that, and other times I add *yet another* random artwork to one of my many unorganized piles that I lovingly call my inventory. I have approximately 0 artworks of my own displayed in my home. Never been much of an interior decorator. But yes, as of 2023 I am a wedding painter. The job perfectly meshes my desire to create and my joy in giving. I currently face the long road of trying to "build my brand" and "get my name out there" so that I can actually enjoy the lifelong requirement and expected societal contribution that is Work. Part of that wonderful creative journey is this silly little blog.
A Live Wedding Painter?
Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like.
You hire me, I come to your wedding (along with my amazing husband, Assistant Joe), I paint the scene of you and your betrothed and all the happy little details, then it hangs in your home for everybody to see and enjoy. Then, after your marriage has lived its full and beautiful life, it can exist as a family heirloom for your loved ones.
It's really cool. And I do it for anyone who wants it. Also any kind of custom acrylic or watercolor painting you could literally ever want, I do that too. Sometimes I even draw some neat stuff with charcoal, pastels, or colored pencils. And I have to admit, I wish I did all of it more.

So, welcome to the brain dump that I don't think anyone will ever read. If you're here, I'm glad you are! It's actually kind of fun to write. My dad writes in journals for hours every day (I'm not exaggerating at all) so maybe it's in my genes. We can meet here every other week for the next year.
