In July, Hannah Brauckmann Art introduced a new and exciting addition to our live wedding painting services - watercolor guest portraits! Completely different from traditional Live Painting in every way, yet every bit as fun. Guest Portraits offer a distinct and enjoyable experience. They provide a unique and refreshing wedding favor for guests, adding a fun and unconventional entertainment element to the event (say goodbye to the photo booth!).
Our lovely couple were gracious enough to let us paint guest portraits for the very first time at their gorgeous New Jersey summer winery wedding. It was quite the afternoon; I've never drawn and painted faster in my life. The challenge of focusing on the details of each guest, their features, their outfits, was a dramatic 180 from my slower compositional process with canvas live paintings. The most exciting part about the night was watching each guest come back to the table to get their painting. Seeing people recognize themselves in my work and be so excited to take it home was so rewarding as an artist!
We learned so much at our first guest portrait event. As the fall busy season ramps up and we have more events and weddings, I can't wait to see how our skill and process develops. We definitely have a few kinks to work out, but art is all about learning as you go.
Hannah Brauckmann Art is now booking live wedding paintings and events for 2025! Since relocating to Lancaster earlier this year, I am looking forward to directing my attention more towards Eastern and Central PA.
