2023 was a wild ride over here at Hannah Brauckmann Art! Since officially launching this business in early June, we’ve overcome numerous obstacles and learned SO many things about live painting, running an art business, the wedding industry, and how to improve. It is crazy to look back at this year and reflect on all that's happened!
My Goals for 2023
When this year began, I truly had no idea I’d be launching a business. I've always made art for family and friends as small gifts and when they asked, but never for the purpose of making a profit. I had seen a few live painters on tik-tok and instagram and just thought “wow, it would be so cool to do that”. After saying it probably a million times, my husband finally said something along the lines of “why don’t you?”. From there, the only goal I had for 2023 was Be A Live Painter. I asked a few friends if I could paint their weddings for free, and graciously they said yes! My first live painting was on May 27th, and after that I was hooked.
What Was Achieved
I jumped headfirst into marketing my services without having the slightest idea of how to do it. I expected it to be easy (no idea why), but oh boy... it takes TIME! And energy and CONFIDENCE! Making an Instagram reel is surprisingly time consuming, especially when it’s a long & detailed process like painting! I started Wedding Wednesdays (a fun series on my instagram account) which was very beneficial for me. I made my website, which I am very proud of! I created and launched my first collection earlier this month (check out Flow here!). I got ghosted 5 times (lol). And finally, I live painted 4 weddings! It was a lot of hard work to get to this point. It is such a blessing to reflect on how far this little business has come in such a short time.
Looking Ahead to 2024
Full disclosure… in 2024, you can expect a TON of changes and exciting things for Hannah Brauckmann Art. Including, but not limited to, studio location change, new team members, new products, collections, and more! Lot’s of things are on the horizon over here.
I don’t want to give too much away though, so these are a few more specific things that I'll be focusing on over the next couple months:
Not needing Joe for every trip (bless him, he’s given up many weekends for me this year)
Painting in some new locations! Lancaster, Pittsburgh, some Jersey beaches, to name a few
Utilizing more platforms to reach my audience.
At least doubling the amount of weddings I painted in 2023.
It’s hard to set goals as an artist when the world, your inspirations, and your ideas change so often, but to have an anchor will be the exact starting block I need to conquer 2024. If I could reach all these goals, my year would be made. I cannot WAIT to see all that happens for Hannah Brauckmann Art, all the couples we’ll get to work with, and all the beautiful paintings that will be made! If you want to be part of any of these goals, you know where to find me 🙂
What are your goals for 2024?
